Updating a Download

To update a download (such as a learning experience), follow the instructions below. Note this only applies to links that have the https://www.naturalwellnessacademy.org/download/XXXX format. You can read more ability these links here.

Step 0: Find the Download of Interest

If you have the Download ID number, you can go straight there by using this link, except replace XXXX with the Download ID number: https://www.naturalwellnessacademy.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=XXXX

You can get the Download ID by hovering over or copying and pasting a download link and getting the number after /download/. For example, if you see the URL: https://www.naturalwellnessacademy.org/download/5987 then the Download ID number is 5987.

Otherwise:

Go the the SECOND “Downloads” link in the WordPress admin bar on the left. For a direct link, click here.
Locate the download you want to edit. You can look through the list, or you can use the Search Box to search using key words (this references the download title, so it might not work depending on what the Download name was set up as — for example, if you search for “Learning Experience 7” and the Download title was set up as “LE7” then you wouldn’t get any results).
Click the “Edit” link that appears when you hover on the title (or click the title).

Step 1: View Files Tied to the Download

When the edit page for the download loads, click the blue box under “Downloadable Files/Versions” to expand it. The box contains a list of the file URLs associated with the download.

Step 2: Empty the Box

Erase the URLs. We don’t want them any more since we will replace them with new files.

Step 3: Add New Files

Click the “Upload file” button in the expanded “Downloadable Files/Versions” box. The Media Uploader will pop up. Upload your file and click the “Insert file” button. The URL of your file will appear in the box.

Step 4: Click blue “Update” button to save

Remember to check under “Download Options” that the right options are selected. Turn off “Members On” by unchecking if the file should be public (available for anybody to download). That’s it! The link will now automatically self-update to reference the new file, so you don’t need to go edit the original link.
