Students already know that they need to add more fruits and veggies to their diets, but they don’t know how. Falsely believing that eating healthy means submitting to bland salads or stretching their tight schedules and budgets on expensive, time-consuming specialty meals, they fall back on junk food. A 2012 study found that 70% of college students gained 12 pounds on average, most of it fat in the neck, waist and hips.
Dr. LJ’s 15 Ways to Beat the Freshman 15 meets students on their own terms by giving them the know-how to make easy delicious, nutritious meals and snacks in their dorm rooms in under 5 minutes for under $5 with just a blender—no cooking needed—in a fun, fast-paced 90-minute workshop.
Students love “15 Ways” because the meals taste great, take just minutes to make, cost little, and don’t require special equipment. Administrators love the class because it promotes a sustainable, allergy-friendly, healthy way of eating. Furthermore, drawing on her 25 years experience as a therapist, Dr. “LJ” Rose backs her recipes up with psychological insights on eating right. No wonder her programs have launched to great praise at colleges, medical centers and businesses nationwide!
Participants in the “15 Ways Workshop” learn how easy—and fun—it is to eat healthy, super-nutritious superfoods that stoke the mind and body with energy, vitality and focus. Dr. LJ teaches students how to make the healthiest food choices when eating out, as well as providing them with psychological tools, tips and techniques to tap inner resources that promote positive change in any aspect of life.
And eating is believing, so each workshop includes sampler plates of healthy, tasty, easy-to-make comfort food alternatives to fast and processed foods.
